Stereo Sound

The eye should learn to listen before it looks.
— Robert Franks

It has been a while since I last posted anything on here. I have had a busy few months, moving from Perth to Glasgow, an exciting time with new photographic potential as keen viewers of my Facebook page will have seen.

On Wednesday night, while it seems like everyone else with a camera was out photographing the Northern Lights, I was in the basement of the Stereo bar in Glasgow city centre at the album launch of High Spirits, a fine debut album from Gráinne Brady and Tina Jordan Rees. I am listening to the album just now, as I write this post.

It is always a pleasure to photograph live music and this gig was no exception. In addition to their own band Gráinne and Tina were joined by the outstanding talents of Borders guitarist, fiddler and singer Innes Watson and the lively Manx outfit, Mec Lir.

Here are a few of the photos that I took on the night. The full collection can be seen on my Facebook page. If anyone would like me to come along and photograph their gig then do get in touch.
