A New Year and New Beginnings!

Which of my photographs is my favourite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.

Happy New Year to you all! It has been a long time since I have posted a blog on here, almost a year, in fact! I can only apologise for the absence but life has proven to be very busy and opportunities few.

Strictly speaking, that is not true. There is always the opportunity there. You just need to make the time and take advantage of it. Over the past year, as those of you who keep an eye on my Facebook page will know, I have been up to Skye and the Western Highlands to take some new landscape photographs and back to Ireland to fantastic music festivals in Miltown Malbay, Tubbercurry and Ennis. I have been doing portraiture, band promo photography and shot the most fantastic wedding. I have also moved home and am settling in to new surroundings. The flat-warming party has been and gone and, of that, there is precious little photographic evidence!

It is tomorrow, however, that is the focus of this post as it is tomorrow that sees the start of the Celtic Connections festival here in Glasgow, two and a half weeks of mayhem in venues across the city and some of the best music you will find anywhere on the planet. If you want to see a glimpse  of what happened last year then check out my last blog post (yes, it really has been that long!).

If you are a band, musician, broadcaster, newspaper or magazine and you would like some photos from the festival or some new promo shots while you are in town, then get in touch and I would be happy to oblige. The festival diary is already filling up fast and, no doubt, it will all be over in a blur very soon. As ever, I will be posting a range of photos from the festival up on my Facebook page so be sure to swing by there and give it a like.

With the start of a new year and the posting of a new blog, I also have updated the photos throughout my site. In fact, I have a whole new section for portraits and promo photos. Please do have a look around and let me know what you think.

Who knows what will happen over the next year and where this great photographic adventure will lead? Only time will tell and you will be able to keep track of all of it on here and social media, which now also includes the fantastic 500px.

Hopefully see a few of you down the road over the next year, and if you find me sleeping in some corner of the Concert Hall over the next fortnight, be sure to give me a nudge!
