Print Shop Goes Live!
A photograph never looks better than when it is printed and it is a tangible thing that you can see and hold and admire, far more so than when it is just a series of pixels on a screen. I always get a rush of excitement when collecting new prints from the printer or having something new to hang on the wall. With the extra time that we have all been spending in our homes over the past months, I have been spending much of that time thinking about how I can best improve my living space and thinking of all the beautiful landscapes in Scotland and around the World that have been temporarily out of reach. In fact, as I write this, the print at the top of this post went up on my wall above the fireplace just yesterday.
Over the years I have been approached by different people looking for prints of my work. While I have always been happy to oblige, I have been keen to develop this further and make the process clearer and more helpful. With that in mind, I am more than delighted to say that the print shop on my website is now live!
This post is intended to be a brief guide to how the shop works and the different options that you have. I have tried to keep the interface as simple as possible and have included just a few different options in the shop itself. These are designed to include the most common options for both framed and unframed prints but are far from exhaustive. If there is something in particular that you are looking for then please do get in touch and I would be happy to discuss the options with you. Similarly, if there is a photograph of mine that you can’t see in the shop that you are interested in, just let me know and I will add it.
All photographs are printed on a 315 gsm natural, soft textured bright white cotton rag fine art paper. The paper has stunning archival qualities to it as it has 100% cotton rag fibres which is known to be more durable than wood fibres. It has a matte finish and is ideal for landscape imagery. I believe that this paper shows off my images best but, should you wish to discuss other options, do get in touch.
While the two smaller examples here are single mounted, all framed prints that I sell will be double mounted unless you request otherwise. A3 prints come with a 20mm frame and A2 prints come with a 40mm frame as standard.
There are different options when it comes to postage and packaging costs depending on whether you have ordered framed or unframed prints. These are selected at checkout. There is also a free option if you are in the Glasgow area and I can either deliver to you personally or you are able to meet up to collect. While I am always delighted to have my photographs framed for you, I am also conscious that the postage costs for this option are considerably more and recognise that, for ease for you, you may choose to frame them yourself.
Once you have completed your order and before I print it and send it out, I will email you with a sketch of your order as framed for final approval.
You can go to the shop here. Should you have any questions, please do get in touch and I look forward to hearing from you.
